Re: Sequels ruin movies
Superman II was way better than the original, as were the first three Rocky sequels. It's hard to say with current movies since they're all so terrible to begin with.

Re: Sequels Ruin Movies
It depends on what type of movie. Like example the 1990 Disney movies. They came out with Sequels in early 2000.Danimal wrote:Superman II was way better than the original, as were the first three Rocky sequels. It's hard to say with current movies since they're all so terrible to begin with.
Cars and Cars 2. Cars 2 had terrible ratings.
The Rocky and Superman movies are different

Not always, but most of the time.
I liked Jurassic Park 2 just as much as the first, but apparently the second's ratings weren't anywhere near as good as the first.
And, with films like Harry Potter, I don't think it really counts.

Series like Harry Potter and Twilight don't count.Callum9432 wrote:Not always, but most of the time.

Sometimes you get a sequel like Meet the Fockers where all they did was remake the original with a few new characters. Come to think of it, I guess that's all most sequels are.

Re: Sequels ruin movies
I can think of very few movies where the sequels have been better than the originals, EXCEPT for Star Trek. All the even numbered Star Treks (the original series) have been better than the odd numbered ones.
I don't know about the latest Star Trek with what's-his-face...Zach Quinto? playing Spock. I wonder if he and Uhura will still be together in that one. Only time will tell...
