4 different versions of Showtime

I know people are like: Why are there four versions of Showtime? Can't they have just one? How are they different? Well...
Version 1: Original (Price: $40)

• Just the original version of Showtime with everything that comes with it but nothing special. Plus the new social features.

Version 2: Sims 3 + Showtime (Price $!?)

• The Sims 3 base game and the Sims 3 Showtime combined.

Version 3: Sims 3 Showtime Limited Edition Price: $40

• Sims 3 Showtime features + one new "Venue."

Version 4: Sims 3 Showtime Katy Perry Collectors Edition Price: $50

• Katy Perry themed outfits and hair.
  Fruit themed stage props.
  And the stuff from the Limited Edition as well.
  Together that's 8 peices from the KP version + the venue+ the K.P.C.E. poster

Q: Which version is worth getting?
A: It's up to you. If your a fan of Katy Perry then get the Katy Perry version. If you don't want to spend an the extra for 8 items then get the limited edition version. If you haven't bought the base game and you want Showtime get that version. It's up to you.

Original. I don't really care about all that extra stuff. Just gimme regular.

Exactly. Why 4 different versions? Why are they making people choose? What's the purpose. What's the point of making us pay an extra $10 for the Katy Perry version? And for what 8 more items.
